TREATMENT
PROSTHESIS
Rather often despite all doctors’ attempt it is impossible to save a tooth or even teeth. Besides evident esthetic defect teeth absence create many other problems: defect of chewing teeth function (which is destructive for the work of the whole alimentary canal), change of the whole dentition due to the teeth shift which remained on the free space cause such serious disease as periodontitis which is the main reason of teeth loss. To eliminate the defect caused by teeth loss prosthesis is made: either with the help of removable or static dentures which are strengthened on healthy teeth or by prosthesis on implants.
The quality of prosthesis depends on the right choice of orthopedic construction and quality of its production i.e. finally from the qualification of dentist-prosthesist and dental technician and on the appliances of dental laboratory. Mistakes can lead to dramatic consequences including loosening and loss of healthy teeth.
That is why it is so important to perform prosthesis in first-class clinic which has advanced technologies and where high-qualified doctors and technicians work and where there is a well applied dental laboratory.
In Master-StoM all types of modern prosthesis are made:
- micro-prosthesis from composite and ceramic materials;
- prosthesis with usage of stamp inlay (complete and folding for multi-root teeth);
- metal-ceramic constructions – coronas and bridge dentures including those from precious metals alloy;
- non-metal ceramic – bridge dentures, coronas, inlays.
- changeable lamellar dentures from hyperallegtecit plastic with artificial teeth (H.KULZER);
- changeable lamellar dentures by adentia (absence of teeth), produced according to the method VIVADENT
Types of orthopedic constructions:
Static dentures

Metal-ceramic corona – is the most popular type of prosthesis aimed at renewal of coronal tooth part in situations when therapeutic methods are helpless.
Production of metal-ceramic corona is a rather difficult process. At first accurately according to the form of the tooth metal frame is cast. And ceramic mass is applied over this frame and later burning is conducted. To reach precise coincidence of corona with “alive” teeth of the patient not only in color but also in all other parameters including peculiarities of teeth surface characteristic for the patient a folding model is made and a future tooth is fully copied on it. As a rule, before precise coincidence is reached the procedure of ceramic mass application and its burning is repeated several times (sometimes even till 7-8 times).

Bridge denture – static construction with consists of base which has several metal-ceramic coronas or artificial teeth. Denture is fixed on the support teeth (or implants).
Despite serious advantages of metal-ceramic (high esthetic value, solidity and durability) it has one drawback – usage of metal. Some patients have of dryness of mouth cavity or taste irritation because of that. There are also other reasons which make presence of ordinary stomatological metal alloys undesirable in mouth cavity.
These contradictions are solved in several directions.
One of them is application of metal alloys from gold and other precious metals. These alloys are not allergic and are fully deprived of drawbacks which are typical for alloys of non-precious metals. Moreover, alloys on the base of gold have bacteriostatic (prevent bacteria multiplication) effect. To have such a ‘guard’ in a mouth cavity - the biggest gates of infection in our organism -is very useful for health.
Another direction appeared with the development of non-metal ceramic – technology of a famous company IVOKLAR which allows to produce coronas and bridge dentures from pure ceramic. Such constructions have all advantages of metal-ceramic which allows to produce dentures of extremely high esthetic quality.
Removable orthopedic constructions
Partially removed denture – is a denture which is used in absence of several neighboring teeth when it is impossible to fix static bridge denture or denture-implant. Partially removable lamellar denture consists of artificial teeth which are situated on the plate made from special plastic of gum color.
Fully removable denture. This removable denture is used in full absence of teeth on upper or lower jaw. It consists of artificial teeth which are situated on a wide plate made from special plastic which imitates shape and color of the gum.
Micro-prosthesis
Micro-dentures are orthopedic constructions which are used directly for restoration of the coronal part of tooth. Among them are insets which are ‘inserted’ into the tooth cavity and insets which are set on the surface (side) of the tooth.
Insets play the function of stopping. But on the contrary from ordinary filling which are fixed by dentist during the treatment, insets are produced in special laboratory. They are made from either ceramic or glass-polymer from cast made from the tooth which is being restored. After that the doctor fixes them in tooth cavity with the help of special cements.
Insets are monolithic constructions made from the material which is far more solid then other known filling material today.
The most popular type of micro-dentures among patients is veneer which is an inset fixed on the external surface of fore teeth. With the help of veneers a lot of problems can be solved – such as change of form and color of teeth ‘smoothing’ of crooked teeth, strengthening of their sides and others. It is enough to say that basis of many ‘Hollywood smiles’ are … ceramic veneers.
